https://reporternewspapers.net/2022/05/12/dunwoody-high-school-robotics-team-to-participate-in-nickelodeon-movie/ The Wildcat5e team, along with 5 other Atlanta based teams, has been invited to participate in the making of a Nickelodeon film - 'Football Fantasy'. It is a Father/ Daughter film where the Daughter is into robotics and the father is a pro football player. We will be involved in the robot competition scenes. Very exciting and a result of all the hard work the team has put in this season. https://nickelodeon.fandom.com/wiki/Fantasy_Football
Wildcat5e finishes 9th in the State but just misses qualifying for the World Championship event4/12/2022
Wildcat5e finished a successful season last weekend at the State Championship in Macon. After the event, the team finished in 9th place overall for the season with 200 points. It was disappointing to not qualify for the Houston World Championship, but in every other way it was the most successful non-rookie season for the Wildcat5e program. The student accomplishments were significant:
-> Finished 2nd at Dalton and won the Industrial Engineering Award -> Progressed to the semi-finals at Carrolton and won the Engineering Innovation award -> Advanced to the quarterfinals at Macon and missed advancing to the semi-finals by only 3 points. Won the Creativity Award Although the team just missed advancing to the World Championship, what they accomplished has built a solid foundation and set a gold standard for the future. Congratulations to the entire team. The team is ready to rock at the Peachtree Championship being held April 7th through the 9th at Hawkins Arena in Macon. We are currently ranked 8th in the state and our plan is to play well to earn the invitation to the World Championship in Houston.
Also, MDH Partners is the newest 'Full Flight' sponsor. We are excited to have them on board and are ever thankful for their support. Our team ended up with 47 points which puts them at 107 points total - or 5th in the state. Although there is one more regional event next week, it is safe to say we will be going to States. To qualify for Worlds - we have to be in the top ten in points, which means thee team cannot take anything for granted and they will be working hard to improve the robot. The team also won the 'Innovation in Engineering Award' |
