2019 Season

FIRST® Robotics Competition 2019 Game

Picture
In DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE, we joined two competing alliances collecting samples on Planet Primus. Unpredictable terrain and weather patterns make remote robot operation essential to their mission on the planet. With only 2:30 until liftoff, the alliances must gather as many cargo pods as possible, secure the cargo into cargo bays using hatch panels, and prepare their spaceships before the next sandstorm arrives.

Our 2019 Season

In the Fall, we got right to work fundraising, learning, and reaching out to the community. In our most successful event of our team's history, we put on an amazing raffle and auction spirit night at the Dunwoody Tavern that brought in over $10,000 in funds that went towards building, traveling, and competing.

After fundraising, our mechanical, electrical, programming, and strategy sub teams collaborated to design, build, wire, program, test, and compete with a world-class robot in just 6 weeks. We attended the Gainesville and Dalton qualifier competitions, and then the State competition.

Because of our driver's excellent skills, our team was part of the winning alliance in the Datlon qualifier. Although we did not advance to the World competition, our team used this year as a learning year. Therefore, our team is set up to build our most advanced robot in the upcoming 2020 build season.

You can learn about last year's success here.
