The Dunwoody High School FIRST® robotics team Wildcat5e is searching for a space to carry out the building, testing, and design of projects in the coming years. The FRC (FIRST® robotics competition) team is in need of a workshop that would give reasonable space to function and is within the Dunwoody (30338) area.
Space required would include electrical access (i.e. available outlets) for the use of power tools and equipment. Additionally, another smaller room secluded from the main mechanical space to be used for computer aided design and the hosting of meetings is necessary. In order to help, either the provision of a workshop or the opportunity to open partnership with the team through sponsorship or donation would be more than appreciated. For any responses, please contact the team coach, Doug McMahon, through either phone or email as provided below. Wildcat5e looks forward to any future partnerships that may become available. Dunwoody Tavern 5488 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338 dunwoodytavern.com (770) 394-4164 A new school year getting started means a new robotics season, and we're getting to work quickly to make as much of this year as we can. We've already received plenty of new applications, and we expect to have more members than ever dedicated to growing the business side of our team: fundraising, marketing, outreach, and more.
As we look ahead to the new season, we want to set out a few important goals:
We're looking forward to an amazing season, so keep checking back for updates about our progress as team meetings begin. Our first full-team meeting is next Wednesday, August 29th, and we can't wait to meet the team and get started on an awesome FRC robotics season! Pig-N-Chik in Chamblee has graciously offered to donate a percentage of sales over three days to our team! From Monday, January 29 to Wednesday, January 31, anyone who mentions WildCat 5e will support the team financially, just by eating some good BBQ!
The money will be used to by much-needed parts as we build our new robot for the competition season. We'll have last year's robot there and tell you all about our amazing season. Pig-N-Chik 5071 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard Chamblee, GA 770-451-1112 Please mention Dunwoody WildCat5e for us to benefit from your purchase. We hope to see you there! As our awesome rookie season comes to a close, we wanted to document some of of the lessons we learned. Writing them down will help us remember. And maybe they will help another team along the way.
Our team was invited to do a brief presentation to the Dunwoody City Council on May 22, 2017. The team was able to meet the City Council, including Mayor Denis Shortal. The presentation was a great chance for us to explain our accomplishments and to be recognized for our hard work. Thank you to the City of Dunwoody for your support!
Take a look at some pictures below. Thanks to our success, our team has been featured in the local news on multiple occasions. Some of the articles were written by our very own Will Granata. Take a look here:
