The Wildcat5e team today presented an appreciation plaque to St Lukes Church for their support during our Pumpkin fundraiser in the fall. The entire congregation gave applause to the team.
The Wildcat5e team attended Georgia Tech for the season's kickoff. Now the focus turns to building a competitive robot over the next 7 weeks....
The Wildcat5e team is in the midst of its next fundraiser as part of our efforts to be 100% ready for the new season starting Jan 8. Below are the details for those interested in helping. We are Wildcat5e of the Dunwoody High School FIRST Robotics Club. We build industrial sized robots and use them to compete in global tournaments against other robotics teams. This program helps us build S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills and to provide outreach to the Dunwoody community and prepare for college and beyond.
The team is responsible for funding and buying all the materials and tools we need to build the competition robots, as well as entry fees into the competitions. The costs to do all of this is quite expensive, and we depend on support from our community, family and friends to enable our success. We also host fundraisers to raise money. This fall we opened a Pumpkin Patch and this year we will also host First Lego League tournament to help raise the funds needed, but it is not enough to cover all of the expenses incurred. You can help us by simply visiting the DHS Wildcat5e GoFundMe page and donate by clicking this link: https://gofund.me/2e27ec83 (GOFUNDME). Any amount is helpful in achieving our goals. Many of the members of our team aspire to become future engineers and this club is giving us our first true exposure and experience to what it means to be an engineer. Engineers overcome obstacles that companies, communities and society face, and that is why we aspire to this career choice. Please help us in achieving our dreams. Team 6705 advances to the final match at GRITS and accepts the second place trophy. After the qualifying matches Wildcat5e ended 10th but moved up to the 6th alliance and selected team Otto and the Mechanical Bulls as their alliance partners. Together They finished in a most respectable 2nd place. Go Wildcats !!Come join the fun as Team 6705 hosts its first annual pumpkin patch sale/fundraiser at St Lukes church on the corner of Mt Vernon Rd and Manhasset Dr near Dunwoody High School. Starting on Sunday October 17th through Sunday October 31st our schedule is:
